Congratulations! You just booked your boudoir session! So what do you do next? Here are a few ideas to keep in mind from now until your session to help you prepare!

What to do after booking:

  • Plan your hair, makeup, and nails beforehand - if you need a haircut, schedule that now! If you want to get your hair, makeup, or nails done make sure to get those scheduled as soon as you can.
  • Look up a few poses or inspiration ideas on Pinterest. Share your inspiration pins with your photographer!
  • Pick out at least two or three outfits you want to wear that you feel your most confident in.
  • Pick out some motivational music or playlist if you want to listen to music during the session.

What to do the week of your session:

  • Wax or shave (if you want to) a few days before so you don't have red bumps or skin irritation.
  • Drink a lot of water in the couple days before the shoot so your skin is nice and hydrated.

What to do the day before your session:

  • Don't forget your skin care (both on your face and body). Especially on the night before.
  • Do something calming or relaxing before bed and try to go to sleep early so you're well rested for your shoot!
  • Prep your bag with extra makeup and hair styling tools for touchups, a brush or comb, your lingerie, heels, or any robes or props you might want to use, and any other little things you want to bring!

What to do the day of your session:

  • Stretch (no seriously) - some of the boudoir poses are going to use some of your muscles you might not realize you have!
  • Wear loose fitting clothes the day of your shoot-leggings and socks and tight waist bands can leave marks on your skin that might not fade during the session.
  • Do your hair and makeup and get ready to have your moment!
  • Breathe and relax and get ready to have some fun! That is really more important than anything else on this list.
